If you follow me on Instagram and watch my Instastories, you know I was in Belgium recently for one week. While there, I lived in the moment yet documented my travels; can we say balance. The country on the whole is just lovely.
I traveled there with my cousin and friend. We were based in Brussels however we took daily trips to different cities to visit the Christmas markets-Ghent, Bruges, and Antwerp.

Out of the four cities I visited, I would say Antwerp was my absolute favorite city. Not only did Antwerp have the most amazing Christmas market filled with vendors of all types, but I also went ice skating. Can I just say I had not been ice skating since I was like in middle school when my parents took me to Mackay Park in Englewood, New Jersey. Adding many years to my age allowed me to skate around the entire rink and I did not even fall! Ha! I also visited Wafelhuis Van Hecke in Antwerp, where I dined on the best waffle I have ever had in my life and also talked to the owner who was simply funny and divine.

A major highlight of the trip for me was the Belgian chocolate. I took a chocolate-making class where I learned how to make chocolate candies with and without praline. I also visited a chocolate museum in Antwerp called Chocolate Nation. This was the most comprehensive and interactive museum I have ever been to in my life; I also learned about chocolate history in Belgium and watched a chef make chocolate.

In terms of nightlife, I went to a Hookah lounge in Brussels called Snob. There were many different flavors for the hookah as well as a fully stocked bar. There, the DJ played international music of all types and I definitely bopped my head.
All in all, Belgium was well enjoyed. Not only was the food was delicious but the Belgian people were kind, friendly, and helpful. I would highly recommend sweet Belgium to all.
