I’ve heard the saying you get what you pay for and for many things in life, it does indeed apply. But with makeup, it’s so tricky and that science isn’t exact. I believe that there are many high-end and low-end makeup products that yield a really good result. But with foundation, I haven’t used any inexpensive foundations that actually worked for my skin type. Currently, I’ve been wearing Chanel Ultra Le Teint Foundation. I loved this foundation before but now my feelings have been solidified. Here’s why…..
My routine for whenever I go into the office is that I wake up at 6 am with enough time to shower, dress, do my makeup, and I’m gone. Yesterday, I looked out of my window to make sure that what I had planned to wear, was appropriate for the weather. And while the ground looked wet, is was not raining anymore.
And so as I walked half way through my four short blocks to train station, it began pouring rain. I didn’t have an umbrella with me and it was too late for me to turn around and go back home to get one. So, I had to tough it out and I ran the rest of the way. I was completely soaked when I arrived to the train station. Luckily, I found a paper towel in my lunch bag and began wiping the rain from perfectly applied makeup. I was sure that I had wiped half of my makeup off of my face but I didn’t have a mirror to check.
As soon as I get to the office, I go to the bathroom anticipating all of my makeup being wiped off and to my surprise, my makeup still looked really, really good-dare I say flawless. Is Chanel Ultra Le Teint expensive? Yes, it is. But is it worth every dime? Absolutely! You get what you pay for!
Oh wow, If Sephora carries Chanel, I will have to try a sample of their foundation. I have oily skin and by the end of the day my makeup tends to wipe away. I usually use Makeup Forever, but actually went in yesterday to try some samples of other brands. Happy to know Chanel held together through wet weather 😊.
Thanks for the comment Valerie. If Sephora doesn’t have it, please go to any other department store like Neiman’s, Nordstrom, or Bloomies and ask for a sample. Valerie, you will love it. Let me know what you think. Thanks.
